COFFEE TALK! No regrets Monday.
Postpartum Anxiety, diving off the wagon and the secret to getting back on track.
BIG POINTS!
1. We’re not alone!
Many of us struggle with some form of anxiety and/or depression. Whether it’s PPD, chemical imbalance, struggles in life, we are not alone in our struggles. We just have to remember that we CAN do hard things. We can take steps to overcome. It might not be easy, but it will be worth it.
2. Set Goals!
Set a goal that relates to your biggest struggles.
Are you overweight? Then choose a swimming suit you want to fit into or if you can, plan a special trip to the beach on a specific date. Or… join a pageant! LOL
Is your house an unorganized mess? Invite friends over or plan a party on a specific date. This gives you a deadline to work towards and a reward when spending time with friends.
Whatever it is, set a goal that relates to your struggle and make sure you have a date deadline attached to it to ensure that you have the proper incentive to actually get it done.
3. Create wins & count them!
It’s hard to really stick to something when all we feel is failure. What we need to realize is that failure is a necessary part of life and learning. We WILL fail. It’s what we do when we fail that defines us and our future. If we want to reach our goals, then we HAVE to get back up when we fall or when we fail.
The best way to ensure that we get back up is to create little wins for ourselves. My win today was getting up at 5:30am and working out even when I didn’t want to. It was spending some time with God and reading my personal development. That right there is three wins that I can grab on to and take with me throughout the day.
QUESTIONS to ask yourself:
What goals will I set today with a deadline that I can work towards?
Will I allow myself to fail and be kind to myself when I do?
What wins can I create to help me see progress and keep me on track?
